Where it falls short

• The 2026 features aren't shipped yet. Natural language input was previewed in May 2026 as coming later in the year. Don't plan around it until it lands.
• Apple hardware only. No Windows, no Android, no Linux.
• Command-based today. Until natural language ships, you work with a defined command vocabulary and numbered overlays. Learnable, but a learning curve.
• Less scriptable than Talon. Talon offers Python scripting, noise recognition, and eye tracking. Voice Control is more polished and far easier to start with, but has a lower ceiling for power users.
• Accuracy depends on clear speech. Like almost every recognition system here, it assumes relatively standard speech patterns — see Voiceitt if that's the barrier.

Who it's for

Anyone on Apple hardware who needs to operate their device without hands, whether permanently or while recovering from injury. It should be the first thing you try, before spending anything. If you need deeper customisation or you're coding by voice, Talon is the step up — and Cursorless beyond that. If your speech is non-standard, mainstream recognition may not work for you and Voiceitt is built for exactly that case.
